Bonneville Youth Wrestling Club

 

Our youth program offers wrestling to all youth. From elementary age to junior high school. The season starts in the beginning of November and runs with the high school season through February; We then roll into the spring wrestling season where you can wrestle in all 3 styles of wrestling, Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman. What's the difference in the styles of wrestling?

Folkstyle: This is the style of wrestling that is wrestled in high school and college. Focusing on ground control and escapes.

Freestyle:  Similar to folkstyle, however explosive throws and exposing your opponents back to the mat are primary ways to score.

Greco-Roman: This style of wrestling is all upper body and forbids any and all contact with the legs.
